Can you lend your voice, literally, to a new radio project we are organizing at AOTV? We are putting in an application for a new LPFM radio station. We want to create a two minute public service spot highlighting the features and benefits of a community radio station. I have a script of blurbs that I’d have you – and others – record to create a two minute audio file. I won’t be using people’s names though by having you say hi this is Jane John Doe. Just you reading the sentences. I would post the psa for general consumption just as an example of what a community station can do. It would only involve you calling in to a conference call to record the sentences over the phone. I can send the script as a word document so you can look at it and get the gist of what I’m trying to accomplish.
There is one caution: if you are a member of the SAG/AFTRA union, I’ve been told you cannot participate in this PSA because it requires that I pay, which I obviously cannot do. Anyone who is a member of this union will know what SAG/AFTRA is. Folks who have no clue need not worry! I love it when I don’t have to worry!
And, if you are interested in helping to organize the community around this effort, we are having our first communal gathering on Monday, June 24th at 6:30 at the studio at 163 S. Main Street in Athol. If you can join us and lend your ideas, as well as your voice, I would be grateful.
Let me know if you can help. I look forward to talking with you soon.
All my best,
Marie MacDonald
